About the event
Born in Smooth Rock Falls and now based out of Ottawa, Roxanne "Rox Anne" Dubé, has been singing as long as she can remember.
“I quickly realized how powerful it was to be able to tell my stories through songs, and that’s kind of how I got started,” she said.
She started writing songs and playing guitar at 14.
“I sang for a long time before I got into playing guitar because there wasn’t really any guitar lessons in Smooth Rock,” she said. “So I kind of did all of that on YouTube.”
Her journey into country music took a little longer, though.
“I didn’t grow up listening to a lot of country music, which is very funny because now it’s all I listen to,” she said. “It’s the storytelling, the melodies and just how relatable it can be.”
